Berg's in the Big Blue House

I've been dying to paint our house since we moved in. For one thing, it needed cocking. But it was also hideously beige. The house color was beige, the trim was beige, it was just too blah.  You wouldn't even notice the brick on our house because it blended in with the beige. I'd been wanting to do a dark blue with white trim. I had found these faux wood garage doors on Pinterest and wanted to attempt painting our garage and front door to create a Pinterest worthy look, but with 2 littles I didn't think I'd have time so I asked several painters if they could create the look for me. I finally found one company who knew someone who could create the look I was going for. It turned out BEAUTIFUL!
We used Reid painting for the house and Rhonda Wood for the doors! She's fabulous 503-997-9271
Colors: sherwin Williams cyberspace house color and spare white trim color

Garage doors during. To get the faux wood effect, you start by painting the doors orange. Allow to dry, then brush a stain over the top. Our neighbors just loved us during the process. Hahaha

But the orange was worth it!

Broden 9 months

I know, I skipped 8 months, but Broden man had his second double ear infection, a stomach virus, and we were leaving for Hawaii so I skipped 8 months... but that about summed up 8 months.
9 months has been very fun! Broden can army crawl/inch worm all over and best of all can get back to sitting all on his own. He loves to stand and take steps holding our hands. Broden loves trying lots of table food and especially loves berries and peas. Self feeding has been great! When Rilynn was his age, I made my own baby food (organic of course!) and spoon fed her 3 times a day. But nobody has time for that with a three and a half year old running around. Now that Broden is on the move, him and Rilynn are having lots of fun "playing together". She really is the best big sister even if she bosses him around most of the time.
Teeth: 0
Words: mama! And baba (for bottle) Travis was convinced it was just sounds until every time I came in the room and Broden yelled mama and clapped his hands!
Note the leg over the side of the dockatot.
It is so funny to hear people's opinions on who Broden looks like. I think he looks a lot like his sister. But I've heard it all from he looks just like my baby pictures to he looks just like Travis. I think he's definitely got my skin coloring, and since Travis and I have the same color eyes he has both of our eyes.

7 Months BUB

Broden Uno is 7 months old!

Weight: 18 lbs 8 oz (56%)
Height: 28 inches (65%)
Head size: 48 inches (95%)
Teeth: 0
Sleep: we are so lucky! Goes to bed by 7 sleeps until sometime between 5:30 and 6:30. He loves his dockatot and it is the number 1 baby item I recommend. Spendy but so worth it. Takes two 2 hour naps and a quick evening nap.
Eating: we are down to 4-5 big bottles a day. Broden would stop bottles all together if we let him. He'd rather eat his baby food and finger foods.
Tricks: sitting like a champ, scooting and rolling all over.
Loves: snuggles, blankies, chewing on his hand
Dislikes: being hungry or poopy and when his sister takes away his toys.
He is finally starting to enjoy the bath.
Enjoying a picnic in the backyard
Derby outfits!
When you try to skip nap and then fall asleep like this.

Broden's 1/2 birthday

Happy 6 months Broden Uno!

Sleep: you sleep through the night again, most nights! Bedtime between 6:30 and 7 and up at 5 (we are working on this, too early in our house).
Weight: 17pounds 30th percentile
Height: tall! I can't find our stat sheet but 90th percentile
Head: big! 90th percentile
Teeth: 0 but working on some
Tricks: giving slobbery kisses on command, rolling and scooting all over, putting the binki back in your mouth except for at night (although you rarely wake up for it).

Loves: snuggles, his sister, his fingers, being tickled, eating solids

Dislikes: the bath, teething, ear infections, shots

Firsts: bike ride, swim in a pool (pools are good baths not so much), ate puffs and melts, ear infection
Love the bond these 2 already have.
Best friend at school!
You will sleep damn it!  Trying out the dockatot and magic Merlin! They worked great... or maybe it was the antibiotics for the double ear infection he had for God knows how long. Ooops! Mom of the year over here.
Feed me!

Rilynn in the same onesie at the same age.

Big sister Ri Ri is a typical threenager. She wants to do everything by herself. Usually I love her desire for independence, she can be very helpful, but when we are already running late and she insists on picking out her own clothes, putting them all on by herself, and then changing her mind, I'm over it. Rilynn is currently obsessed with our trip to Disney World, which is still 6 months away with a trip to Hawaii before, but apparently the beach isn't as exciting as seeing all of her favorite characters in person.
