23-26 weeks

Pregnancy updates...
How I'm feeling- not too bad, I have energy, I'm not too hot with our mild summer, my back is starting to get sore and my feet are swollen but no more than withRilynn

Rilynn- finally accepted that she's having a brother. Every time we are out shopping and she sees baby boy clothes, toys, or room decor she thinks we should buy it for baby brother.

Nursery- almost done! Lots of navy, gray, and boy stuff

Name- we definitely have a last name, we are pretty sure we have a middle name, and we think we might even have a first name, but we still have 3 months to go so that could change. And of course, we aren't sharing until he arrives.

Fun times at Black Butte with the whole family!

Rilynn is doing great in her new swim class. Mommy doesn't have to get in the pool anymore wahoo!!
4th of July started with me getting 10 hours of food poisoning, but by evening we were able to walk in our neighborhood parade, and have a fun BBQ with friends. Rilynn went to bed before fireworks but she wasn't too happy in the morning... "Fireworks are too youd!" Apparently they woke her up a few times but being the rule follower she is, she didn't get out of bed to let us know.
Dancing with her pal Audrey at the first summer concert on the commons!

22 weeks with baby #2

22 weeks and I've already gained about 22 pounds!! It must be all baby, definitely not that pack of Oreos I ate last week. Which is the exact reason I NEVER buy junk food. It was supposed to be for a worms and dirt dessert that I didn't end up making; couldn't let them go to waste and didn't want Rilynn to find them.  ;)
We met our new doctor and think she is the perfect fit for us! She is a private practice and delivers all of her patient's babies. We tentatively scheduled our c-section, aka picked our kids birthday, for October 15! 4 months to go! I've been working on the new nursery while Rilynn is at school.
Rilynn took a trip to the ER this week for a false alarm appendicitis.
Spending lots of time on the boat.
And in the new backyard!
The only downside to having Rilynn potty trained is that she wakes up at the crack of dawn to pee and doesn't go back to sleep. So we find lots of ways to entertain ourselves at 6 am.
We love living by our friends!
Besties!
Tube rides!

20 weeks

This pregnancy is becoming more and more different than my pregnancy with Rilynn. At 20 weeks, I feel like I'm more like 30 weeks. My feet are starting to swell, I've felt movement since about 12 weeks and Travis since 16 weeks. Everything has been so much earlier this go around. Rilynn is still in denial that she's having a brother. Although, she prefers playing with boys so I don't think she'll be disappointed for long.
Other updates...
We planted in our veggie beds!

The water feature is amazing. We keep our window open at night to listen to it.
The deck is filled with a castle, water table, and a kiddie pool with a slide.
Rilynn went tubing for the first time and LOVED it! Couldn't get her off the tube.
Lots of boating days ahead this summer.
Had some friends over to BBQ

Rilynn got a big girl bed as a reward for being 1 week potty trained! She rocked it!
And of course she has her Nick dog on the bed.
Loves her Nick and Saycie shirt... Need a Lexi one next, Aunt Suzie!
My favorite place in the house is our kitchen nook.
We did some painting to replace the lime green.

I was worried about the amount of house work that comes along with a big house... A playroom to keep all of her toys and a rumba to vacuum for me has solved those problems. :)

It's a...

Portland Ultrasound was great! We would highly recommend them to any of our pregnant friends, much more relaxed than a doctors office setting.
Travis is very excited to have a boy. Rilynn and I were team pink, but we will come around to the idea of a boy. She complained for a while insisting it was a baby sister.  Growing up with a sister, I think every girl needs a sister... Guess that means we aren't done yet, Honey! ;)  At least I don't have to paint the nursery at the new house.

15/16 weeks

He or She what will Baby Berg #2 be?

We find out on Tuesday, for real this time.  My OBGYN had been my doctor for years. I went to her for the first half of my pregnancy with Rilynn until switching insurance companies.  This pregnancy I was excited to be back with her.  She is part of a group practice, which started to create some issues for us. At my first ultrasound, there was a cyst on the umbilical cord, so my doctor wanted us to do genetic testing and extra ultrasounds to check things out.  We saw 3 different doctors in my last 3 visits, creating many communication issues, including canceling our 16 week ultrasound, without telling us, after the cyst had gone away. Our wait time was anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes to see a provider.  We chose to switch to a private practice OBGYN for the rest of my pregnancy. We still get to have my C-section at the same hospital, just down the street from our new home.
The anticipation for Tuesday is killing me now! As most of you know, I am predicting a girl. Fast heart rate and my last ultrasound showing no sign of a penis have brought me to that prediction. Rilynn guesses girl as well and Travis is still holding onto hope for a boy.

At 16 weeks...
We moved past the flutter stage and can feel actual kicks now!
I've gained 12 pounds already! Wowzers, that came on quickly.
Wearing pretty much all maternity clothes.
Feeling energetic and overwhelmed with all the craziness going on in our lives right now.

Rilynn...
Is loving school. She sings all of her school songs for us and loves to play school where she is the teacher and we are the students. We are so impressed with all that she's learning at her amazing preschool. She loves playing with all the boys at school.
Is excited to be a big sister.
Loves swim lessons, wearing goggles, and going down the slide. Hates floating on her back.
House update: we move May 14. Our garage has turned into a storage unit for furniture and our old guest room is filled  with boxes.  We can't wait to get into the new house and start making it our home!

First Trimester Baby Berg #2

Already 1/3 of the way done with pregnancy #2! It wasn't as easy of a first trimester as my first pregnancy; I was a more nauseous, had some vomiting, was exhausted all the time, and probably a little crankier. Travis and I had planned on having another baby, just wasn't sure when. After our fiasco in Disneyland with no sleep for 4 days, we were driving to Palm  Springs and both said, "We are NEVER having another kid!" Low and behold the next afternoon I had 3 positive pregnancy tests. But we are SO excited to add to our family now that we are back to a normal sleep routine that will surely be interrupted again in about 6 months. Rilynn was born to be a big sister. She's nurturing, affectionate, and extremely bossy. Our official due date is October 19, however since I had a c-section with Rilynn, I am choosing to have another one this go around, so that will be scheduled around a week before. I am very excited for an October baby! I love the beginning of fall in Oregon. My good friend from high school, Stephanie, is due with her first baby just days before me. So excited to share this time with her and raise our kids together.
Stats:
Weight gain: 1 lb but several inches. It took me a while to show with Rilynn, but I swear I was showing instantly with BB2... Or maybe that was all the treats in Disneyland.
Cravings: fruit
Gender prediction: girl! We are hoping to find out in about 2 weeks, but my guess is girl.
Symptoms: are all gone. No more nausea, vomiting, or exhaustion.
Most excited: to find out the gender
Left second pregnancy, right pregnant with Rilynn

Getting Things Done in 2016

Last year I told Travis, "2016 is going to be a big year for us!" And here it is, April 2016 and the big changes are in full swing!

* Rilynn started preschool
*I started subbing in LO
*Travis is back in the construction industry doing what he loves at Baker
*Josie is turning 10
*We sold our house and are moving to the other side of Tualatin in the West Linn/Wilsonville school district! We are on the same street as our good friends Kevin and Katie and their kids who are best buddies with Rilynn! Couldn't be a more perfect house and location for us.
*And most exciting of all... We are having another BABY in October!

When Travis and I get an idea in our heads, we are like a dog with bone. It's been great making our dreams come true. 2016 is going to be full of great memories and lots of chaos!

Our new house!
Who wants to be a big sister?! "I do!"
Baby on the way!
The bump that pretty much showed up immediately. I'm pretty sure I'm as big as I was with Rilynn at 22 weeks! So far only gained a pound though. Bump pictures with the chalkboard will happen again this time, just probably not on a weekly basis.
